Boker Tov radio show, CJAM, 91.5 FM

10/25/06: October 25th show

Shalom everyone!
Tomorrow looks like another great show so do listen
in. Joanne Gignac from Ward 4 will be on to diuscuss
where she stands on all of our local issues as will
Alan Halberstadt from Ward 3. Both candidates voted
for selling Superior Park, so it will be interesting.

Also on hand, in our new writer's corner will be
Robert Ferrigno. You may remember Robert from when I
interviewed him when his book Prayers for the Assassin
came out last year. Well, he has had quite a reaction
to his book, especially in the Muslim community.
Robert will be on hand to discuss that.

Also on hand will be Larry Horwitz and his crew from
Horwitz's Haunted House downtown.

It will be an interesting show, eclectic for sure!
Listen in at CJAM, 91.5FM 0800-1030. We can also be
heard on the internet.

Shalom!
We have a great show lined up for you this week on Boker Tov. To start the show off we will be interviewing Bill Marra, a candidate in Ward Four. We had hoped to have Alan Halberstat from Ward Three, as well, but he never returned our calls and we'll just leave it at that.

Our featured artist this week is the Windsor Symphony! Well, not all of them at once, they wouldn't fit into the studio. But we will have our wonderful, illustrious conductor, John Morris Russell on hand to discuss the latest happenings with the Symphony.

And we hope to start our Writer's Corner this week with Gordon Kirkland. I say we hope because poor Gord is in the process of moving and we all understand how traumatizing that is! So if he can't make this week, he'll be on next week.

Also on hand will be some of the cast from Theodora, She-Bitch of Byzantium and the Vampire Lesbians of Soddom. Korda Productions has really gone all out with this production and breaks all sorts etiquette rules of theatre. I loved every nasty minute of it!!!!! If you get the chance, do go see it. It plays at the Wellington this Friday, Saturday and Sunday evening. Then it moves to Detroit. And who knows, maybe to Broadway after that! You can buy tickets at the door, $15 a person.

So listen in at CJAM, 91.5 FM from 0800-1030 or catch us on the internet.

10/08/06: Boker Tov, Oct. 5th, 2006

Have you ever had one of those moments where you just know the person you are talking to is so much more intelligent than you could ever dream to be? That happened to me, this week, on Boker Tov. The man I was interviewing was Dr. Aurel Braun, a professor of Political Science at the University of Toronto. Here was a man who had researched communism and totalitarianism for years, written countless books and articles on the subjects, and founded organizations and institutions for people to study politics and communism etc. My life can be summed up in one or two sentences, not several paragraphs.

Anyway, the man was brilliant. Hopefully I will have the interview on this site by next weekend; it was over thirty minutes long. Right now, you can go to CJAM's archives and listen in. He says totalitarianism runs most of the countries in the Middle East. As in the days of Stalin and Hitler, a totalitarian regime infiltrates every aspect of the lives of the people they rule and has their 'men' everywhere, listening in, finding out who is against the regime or even dares to complain about it. And every totalitarian regime needs a scapegoat for the people to hate to take their minds off of the misery they are experiencing under the regime. In this case the scapegoat is Israel. He also said that Iran's regime is closely intertwined with Hezbollah and Hamas, and Iran, not Hezbollah orchestrated the war against Israel, this summer. Not a surprise there.
I didn't get a very positive feeling about the future of the Middle East while listening to Dr. Braun. One thing was clear. Western countries need to stop criticizing Israel and trying to stop her from protecting herself.

Our featured artist was Theresa Tova. What a delightful woman! Tova is the kind of person you'd love to invite for dinner. With any luck and lot of technical help that interview, along with some of her music, will be up too! Her new c/d 'Tova sings Beyla' is awesome...sultry, jazzy and yiddish...what a combination!

Oh the joys of modern technology!!! Never fear, friends. I will triumph over this stumbling block, hurtle, mountain, mount Everest of mine and you WILL hear interviews and music on this site! Errr, just not today.
